Learning to float

Sinking is easy. It’s natural. It is a law of nature. Jumping into the water takes courage. You need to learn how to float when nature and circumstance is pulling you under. Did you learn to swim. Did your father wait in the pool with open arms. “Jump in honey girl. I am here I will catch you.” Did you feel safe. Knowing that though you go under the water your father was there to pull you back up celebrating the courage it took to trust and take the leap.

How do you come up for air if there is no one there. Did you have to take the leap alone? You don’t drown by jumping into the water. You drown if you stay there. Who taught you to push up from the bottom. Who taught you to strive for the surface. It comes from within. Our intuition, our soul, deep down we already know. Our father instructs us and comforts us, but what he is doing is calling forth the boldness and bravery that already exists within yourself. How often are we searching for the answer in others. Trusting and leaning on others perceptions of who we are and what we should do. What you are doing is ignoring yourself. Ignoring your strength. Ignoring who you are and how far you’ve come. There is a roar inside of you that is more powerful than than anything that you’ve heard before, if you just listen. Stop listening to others. Stop listening to yourself, your brain and the flood of intrusive thoughts holding you back. Start listening to your inner man. The spirit inside of you. Guiding you into healing and wholeness. Instructing you to strive for the air. It’s hard. It can feel un-natural. But there is where you learn to float. I can’t help but think of Mufasa and Simba. “You see He lives in you.” “Remember who you are.” Remember who you are
